Fertile Eggs are our biggest product and are a great way to raise your own birds! We sell fertile eggs from most of our breeds, and sell them from August to February and if we have enough birds laying, year round!
We only sell fertile eggs from a group if fertility is over 90%, and aim for 100% fertility at all times. Most groups will be at 95-100% though. Eggs are tested bi-weekly if not weekly as well as gathering results from customers. If we have a drop in fertility and eggs were sold from that week then you will be contacted and a refund/replacement/credit given. If we have not contacted you and the eggs have not developed, then the eggs will have been fertile and an issue has occurred. Check our T&C's for more info.
Chicken genetics are complex and occasionally weird things can occur. We also develop and improve our breeds so things can pop up that aren't supposed to be there. If something hatches out not right then feel free to contact us, but please understand a refund/replacement will only be given if it is a cross. Birds can appear different to the parent stock in many ways from type, shape and colour when its a project breed. Sometimes we may also have another colour in a group that we are working on that may cause the occasional weird colour to pop up. Random colours can also pop up in certain colours such as lavender cuckoo from our cuckoo Araucanas. Below is a list of breeds that we are aware of abnormalities showing up in.
Lavender cuckoo has a 25% chance of appearing as we used lavender to make the cuckoo Araucanas.
Fluffy legs, beardless and tuftless birds may appear due to the dominant genes and the bantamization of them.
Black birds with golden hackles appear. The exact reason is unconfirmed as its unheard of even internationally but we believe its due to the lack of autosomal barring on the bird. Unsure as to why it dissapears. these birds would be classified as Melanized Red Birchen
Single combs as well as fully black/blue/splash birds occasionally pop out. We are interested in taking back any plain coloured birds that come from these groups.
Fully white/buff exchequer type birds occasionally pop out.
Single combs may occur as the line our rooster comes from had the occasional single comb turn up.
