Pullets & Hens

No matter your set up or experience purchasing adult birds is for everyone!

We receive at least one email or message a day in asking if we have any hens or pullets for sale! Previously we have solely focused on fertile eggs as they are easier for us to sell in large quantities and require less infrastructure.  In the 2024 season we tried out new methods for raising chicks in larger quantities as well as increasing our incubation capacity to 42 eggs a day. This season we aim to hatch out large amounts of birds for raising and plan on having pullets available late 2025/early 2026.

What we sell

12-16 Week Old Pullets

At this age they can be confidently sexed and are highly unlikely to become ill due to the stress of moving. We are also able to confirm what breed they are as they have their adult patterns and can spot any defects they may have.  They will need to be kept seperate from adult birds till 16 weeks if purchased younger but will be cheaper than our POL pullets. It also gives them time to get settled in and not affect when they will lay.

POL (16-24 week) Pullets

These girls are ready to move straight in with your adult hens and won't be far off laying (depends on breed and time of year). These are our main age for selling as they are young but can go straight in with your adult birds.

Hens

These are our ex breeding stock. They will usually range from 18 months to 42 months. They will still have a lot of laying left in them and with the flight breeds will have settled down.
